Summary: Atlantic.Net opened a new data centre on the west coast to support the go-to-market strategy of its cloud hosting service.
Details: Atlantic.Net is using Telx’s data centre in Santa Clara, CA. Santa Clara follows new data centres in earlier this year in Toronto and Dallas, Texas. These were the first two locations for the cloud server service and are mostly small deployments of one but not more than a few cabinets. Management has said it will look at markets outside North America next year. We’ve spoken to management about its new service and the plan is to start with small footprints in key markets. Atlantic.Net build its own orchestration platform and supports both Windows and Linux. The servers are extremely small and the pricing corresponding aggressive with per second billing.
